According to today’s Observer senior members of the campaign to bring the Olympics to London in 2012 are admitting that their bid has failed.
Many Londoners (myself included) will see this as very good news. I don’t remember anyone asking us if we wanted the Olympics here.
I’ll see this as very bad news. But, I live in Paris … :(

Speaking as someone who had to be in Manchester 5 days a week during the Commonwealth Games, I can understand your feelings – it was complete craziness here.BTW, I just created one of these TypeKey things to make it easier (in theory) to comment, but after signing in, I try to post and get “Name and address must be supplied”, so I’ve signed out and am trying it this way instead.
