That’s it then. London will host the 2012 Olympics. You know, I’ve yet to meet a Londoner who actually supports the bid.
Congratulations to all of the cities who didn’t win.
Now, I wonder how much I can make from renting out my house during the games. I’m certainly not going to want to be in London with that circus going on.
I’m a Londoner who supports the bid. I think it’s going to be fabulous.
If people play their cards right we might be winners. In Barcelona they just built a load of hotels that are now empty with zero profit margin. But if London built hotels that could be easily converted into flats, it could win. Transport might also be made to work better.Whilst I too won’t be around while it’s all kicking off, from a management point of view it’s a good target for people to aim at, and at least it might get a bit of national pride going, much to the dismay of the Guardian I shouldn’t wonder!
Looks like there were one or two people in Trafalgar Square celebrating judging from the photos I saw. So there are *some* Londoners who don’t seem to mind. Well, they could all be tourists and not Londoners at all but there you go :-)
