Kilroy-Silk will surely go down in history as the person who single-handedly destroyed British Euro-sceptics chances of being taken seriously.
It almost makes me like him.
I said “almost”.
Update: It seems that Kilroy-Silk’s new party doesn’t have a web site (or, at least, not one that Google knows about) so I’m happy to join in the google-bomb linking “Kilroy Veritas” to somewhere more interesting.
Seeing as how more or less every opinion poll shows that the British are mainly eurosceptic, certainly as regards a European “constitutional treaty”, either British eurosceptics are taken seriously already, or else they don’t need to be. As a neutral on this particular debate, I personally think that it’s the Europhiles that have the biggest image problem. Yes, the sceptics may be divided (and not particularly appealing), but on the issue itself they seem to have majority opinion on their side.
Ian,You’re certainly right about the current popularity of the Euro-sceptic stance. But that’s exactly why Kilroy-Silk’s antics are so enjoyable. Anything that hurts their image has to be a good thing :)
