The Truth About Private Lynch

It seems that the “Saving Private Lynch” story that we got from the US (and, of course, UK) media wasn’t as accurate as it could have been.

The BBC programme Correspondent has being doing some research into the truth of the story and their results will be shown on Sunday night.

“We gave her three bottles of blood, two of them from the medical staff because there was no blood at this time,”said Dr Harith al-Houssona, who looked after her throughout her ordeal. “I examined her, I saw she had a broken arm, a broken thigh and a dislocated ankle. Then I did another examination. There was no [sign of] shooting, no bullet inside her body, no stab wound – only RTA, road traffic accident,” he recalled. “They want to distort the picture. I don’t know why they think there is some benefit in saying she has a bullet injury.”

  1. Hello! From what I’ve heard, her vehicle tipped over and she received her injuries from that. The Iraqi’s put her in an ambulance and drove her back towards the Americans. The Americans opened fire on the ambulance (typical!), so it turned back and took her to a hospital, informing the Americans of her whereabouts. This was an opportunity not to be missed, so the Marines were sent in, accompanied by the media, and fired a bunch of blanks at no-one in particular (there was no Iraqi resistance). Then they ‘rescued’ her. It looked amazing on TV, but actually it was a load of b*llocks!
